Man this year passed real fast, I’m pretty sure its mainly because of staying in most of the year… Not like I don’t do that anyway (´ω` ). And of course, still in lockdown in the UK, no surprise there!

This time we will be reviewing the new Miku figure by Kotobukiya. This is actually my first Miku figure. It’s kinda weird that I decided to get one now and not before since I’m always eyeing Miku figures to add to my collection, especially the racing ones. I’m pretty sure everyone here knows Miku and where she comes from so I’ll take a pass from explaining that. But hey, if you haven’t played the Project Diva games, go try them! They’re really fun if you like rhythm games.

As mentioned above, this figure is manufactured by Kotobukiya and of course, we can’t fail to mention the artist, Yamashita Shunya. He is a pretty well known professional artist and has quite a few figures based from his illustrations. His style is a really nice refresher from the typical anime style we see.

Miku’s box is actually really nice and fitting, Kotobukiya doesnt seem to fail when making satisfying box designs. I love the artwork spread around the box, and of course, the “01” cut-out.

This figure comes with 0 parts, she comes right out the box in one piece, attached to the base and all, so no assembly required. Miku is standing at 9.63inc (247mm) scaled at 1/7.

As simple as the base is, it actually works really well with this figure because of how colourful Miku is, it really makes her stand out, especially with her multi-coloured wavy hair.

Miku here has quite the sensual and coy expression. It fits really well with the figure and represents the artists style very well (Excuse my bad camera work, i kinda missed the backdrop there (*´ω`*) )

Miku’s hair on this figure is super cool. All the wavy patterns and all those colours makes her really stand out the crowd as Miku should. Theres also some transparent strands of hair too with lovely gradients. I can see a few paint bumps, especially on the fringe, but on display you will definitely not see them.

She is also rocking some cool headphones, I really love the crimson red metallic paint they chose for them. And we have the trademark twin-tail head piece. Both have very nice sculpt’s and paint job.

Miku’s outfit is pretty colourful with a lot of patterns and shapes. I really love the rock style she has going on. Theres actually some really cool decals that you will see on the top of her sleeve and stockings.

Wouldn’t be Miku without her trademark

Here is the lower half of her outfit, you can see the decals much better around her thigh, it compliments really well. Also once again love that metallic paint!
let’s appreciate that frilly mini skirt to.

If your wondering, under her blazer is a lovely bold red colour, It really fits with all the colours we have going on with her outfit.

Overall I really love the paint job they did on the outfit, the shading is flawless and very clean. It’s hard to mention many flaws since it’s so well done, maybe the odd paint bumps and transfer, but even then its pretty small and not noticeable from afar.

Pantie check, it’s not striped!! ehhhhhh (T▽T)

And lastly, her guitar!

Man now this is cool! This guitar has strings!
The paint job and sculpt is super good with this one, as simple as it may be.
In certain angles that paint really does sparkle and glow. Also miku has a pink heart guitar pick, attention to detail!

Overall, I’m super pleased with this figure and happy to have continued great quality figures from Kotobukiya! They did an amazing job with the sculpt and paint. Theres a lot of quality in this figure that makes it stand out when displayed with your other figures, especially all the bright and vibrant colours and pleasing pose.

Only cons for this one is the once mentioned, random bumps marks on the paintwork, but thats only very minor, you really cant see it when she’s displayed.

Overall a really cool Miku figure from a design and a figure standpoint!
